How the Anteater got it’s Nose

The anteater once had a very short snout, sort of like a cat’s. He was very proud of it, and often pulled the elephant’s long nose. The anteater of course never was called an anteater then, because he didn’t eat ants. He would never dream of eating ants. He ate grass, and he was called an ardvark. He was greedy, and his favorite food was moss. He loved moss. Adored it.

One day he saw a pile of moss. It was part of a squirrel’s nest, high in a tree. He climbed up. The squirrel saw him eating it’s nest. He grabbed the anteater’s nose and pushed him down, still holding onto the anteater’s nose. As a result, his nose stretched.

He ran off and ate ants. A life that he deserved.

How the Armaddillo got it’s armor

The armaddillo used to be a furry, soft animal. It was made fun of by the other animals, because he was rather small. The other animals threw rocks and sticks at him. He slunk off to live alone, in the mountains. He made a little house out of stone. The other animals missed him and made a search party. They looked all around. They couldn’t find the little grey animal. That was because he had grown, and he still wore his rock house. He would use it for armor, in anyone threw stuff at him. The armaddillo got bored and went back to town. The other animals always respected him now.

How the Bald Eagle Lost it’s Hair

The Bald Eagle once had a head of brown hair. He was not called a Bald Eagle then. Then animals were all best friends with him, even though they respected him greatly.

One day a rabbit got mad at him and called him names. The eagle chased it, and the rabbit ran very fast. The rabbit started running up the tallest hill. When he got to the top, the rabbit had dissapeared.

The eagle was already grumpy, and when a squirrel in the tallest tree on the tallest mountain said she hadn’t seen the rabbit, he attacked her. She ran to the top of the tree. It was boiling hot up there. Too close to the sun. The eagle got tired and rested on the top branch on the tallest tree on the tallest mountain. He was so hot up there, that all his hair fell out.

Since then, he has had to weire a wig. It icthed and reminded him of the rabbit. The rabbit is now the Bald Eagle’s favorite food.

How the Snake lost it’s legs

The snake used to have legs. He would wear them around all day, then take them off at night.

His worst enemy was the spider. At this time, the spider had only four legs. The spider was always playing jokes on the snake, and vice-versa.

One day, the snake and the spider got into a big fight. They had a contest to see who could be the most annoying.

The townspeaple hated this. They called it a lie. The prize, or maybe the punishment, was that the spider got four more clumsy legs, and the snake had none.
