Alex’s Flight

 (?)

Long ago, when cats ruled the earth, there was a small cat named Amy, Amy had a mouse for a pet, which was odd because most cats ate mice. Amy named her mouse Jackie. One day, Amy and Jackie were taking a walk in the forest, when a small dove flew over to them. This dove was the kind of dove that carried notes. It had a letter for Amy. The letter was from Amy’s mother. She was very sick and needed Amy to come quick. The only problem was that Amy lived very far away from her mother, who lived in a small village. Amy knew that she had to go to her mother.

The next day Amy went to see her friend Cleo. When Cleo heard about Amy’s mother she was upset and promised Amy that she would get to go to see her mother. But there was still a problem. Alexandra, the priss of the town, was jealous. She was jealouse that Cleo got to go on a trip, but she didn’t. So Cleo, Amy, and Jackie had to take Alex with them.

So the three friends, and Alex set out on their long journy. Walking through desserts, forests, and climbing mountains was no problem for everyone except Alex, who kept getting her long fur tangled. They would have probably been able to make the journy in a week, if it wasn’t for Alex. Alex jumped at every noise, every cricket, every owl. Alex also got tired very easily. So the journey took several weeks. Then one day Alex went out hunting birds for dinner. She didn’t catch any, so she returned for the camp. When she got there, Amy, Cleo, and Jackie were eating strawberries. Alex couldn’t stand strawberries. Then Alex thought of something! She could eat Jackie! She probably would have, too, if Amy hadn’t threatened to run off dureing the night and leave her behind.

Finally they were very near Amy’s mother’s house. They were all very tired, so they stopped for the night. That night, Alex heard a distant voice in the woods calling her name. She jumped out of bed and ran into the forest, as if drawn by a magical force. When Alex woke from her trance, she found herself deep in the forest. There was a shadowy something lurking in the bushes. Alex knew the saying “curiosity killed the cat,” but Alex had to know what was in that bush.

As Alex walked over to the bush, she heard something behind her. She looked to see what was behind her. There was nothing there. She kept on walking towards the bush, her fur tangled and dirty. When she got close enough to see what was in the bush, she got mad. Jackie had been playing a trick on her. She was just about to pounce on Jackie, when a big owl grabbed Alex and flew off. Jackie was terrified, she ran back to Amy and Cleo. Jackie told them the whole story. They were sad, but they knew they would never see Alex again. They walked on. Meanwhile, the owl that got Alex was flying over a small village, when suddenly another owl flew over, and the owls got in a fight. The owl with Alex, dropped her, and Alex fell down to the village below. Just then, Amy, Cleo, and Jackie were on Amy’s mother’s doorstep, when Alex fell smack on top of Amy. It took Amy and Alex several minutes to recover, then they all went inside to see Amy’s mother, who had gotten better after a while
